Nikka Martinez-Garcia, Patrick Garcia’s wife and mother of two, shared on her blog post how she felt insecure with Jennylyn Mercado throughout her relationship with the actor.
However, Nikka also revealed in the blog post how she overcame her insecurities and jealousy and replaced it with compassion and understanding for Jennylyn and her son Jazz.
In the blog post entitled ‘A Boy After My Heart’, Nikka wrote that she felt uneasy dealing with Patrick’s past. “When Pat and I were just dating; I was young and still a little immature. I was confident in mostly everything except his past. Knowing that he has a son whom he adores with someone he used to love, not to mention, a very good-looking person… brought about the feeling of INSECURITY in me,” Nikka said.
Nikka also mentioned that she would “start creating crazy scenarios in my head, over-analyze certain things,” among others. All these, she did without Patrick’s knowledge.
However, Nikka revealed that her change of heart came after being engaged to the actor. She wrote: ” I knew that I was not only going to have to learn how to have a relationship with Jazz, my husband’s son, but I would eventually have to have some kind of relationship my fiance’s former girlfriend, the mother of his child.”
Nikka then reached out to Jennylyn and finally met her.
“I knew in my heart that this was definitely God’s plan. God took away all my insecurity and replaced it with genuine admiration. He took away jealousy and replaced it with compassion,” Nikka shared.
Jazz then became part of the wedding entourage during the Martinez-Garcia nuptials last March 2015.
Patrick took to Instagram to respond to Nikka’s blog post. He wrote:
“They say when someone leaves you it only means one thing that the Lord has someone better for you and when that someone came into my life I married her!
In connection with your blog post I just want to let you know that you are kinder, smarter, more loving, wiser, nicer, more gorgeous, beautiful and sexier inside and out. Oh my love I’m telling you there was no reason to be insecure in the first place.. You are the best for me! I love you @nikkamgarcia”
