Madonna “violates” the law after using the Philippine flag at The Rebel Heart Tour

With the undeniable success of her two-night Philippine concert tour called “The Rebel Heart Tour” at the Mall of Asia Arena last February 25 & 26, 2016, the Queen of Pop Madonna definitely left a mark in the Philippine concert scene.

Aside from the whooping applause and cheer she received from her avid fans and supporters, Madonna also drew attention and criticism after performing a production dance number with the Philippine flag draped on her shoulders.

As seen on an Instagram video upload by ABS-CBN actress Maxene Magalona on early Friday morning (February 26, 2016), the Queen of Pop used the Philippine flag in one of her production numbers in the sold-out concert.

According to reports, the flag even touched the floor while Madonna was strutting down the stage.

The particular performance gained loud cheers and roars from the audience but most people are not aware that Madonna’s move may be considered as a violation of Section 34 of Republic Act 8491, which prohibits the wearing of the flag “in whole or in part as a costume or uniform.”

Prior to the Queen of Pop’s two-night concert tour, Batangas Archbishop Ramon Arguelles called out to boycott the said concert while tagging Madonna as “the evil one.”
