Pope Francis gets annoyed at a rowdy crowd in Mexico
Contrary to his charming and bubbly persona, Pope Francis revealed another side of him as seen on a viral video encapsulating the high-spirited Pope getting upset and a bit angry at some Mexican devotees after being too aggressive during an event.
A report by GMA7’s late-night news program “State of the Nation” on Wednesday evening (February 17, 2016) stated that the Pope was displeased by some of his supporters in Michoacan, Mexico who caused a small chaos in an event during his visit.
Moreover, an article by the Catholic New Agency reported that the Pope was actually distributing rosaries to the devotees when the incident happened. Pope Francis got angry when some supporters became too aggressive and started pulling him in different directions; causing him to lose his balance and accidentally fall over a disabled devotee.
The chaotic incident made the bubbly Pope lose his patience and started reprimanding the devotees by saying,
“What’s going on with you? Don’t be selfish! Don’t be selfish!”
Director of the Vatican Press Office Father Federico Lombardi also gave an official statement regarding the issue explaining that Pope Francis’ reaction is “very human and normal.”
“It’s a very human reaction, very normal… anyone in a similar situation would have reacted that way, especially after a long day of activities.”
