Aside from his award-winning performances on film and television, ABS-CBN actor Gerald Anderson advocates for environmental awareness as he launched his own foundation that helps address various environmental issues.
Through his personal social media accounts, the ABS-CBN promoted his startup foundation called the “Gerald Anderson Foundation, Inc.” The said foundation aims to establish efficient K9 search and rescue teams who are prepared to give aid in saving lives.
“The Anderson Foundation is a non-profit volunteer organization serving the Philippines and the World committed to providing prompt response with specialized canines, highly trained personnel, and equipment that aid and assist in the recovery of missing persons. The Foundation shall strive to build effective K9 Search and Rescue Teams to aid in saving lives. To be an effective rescue canine requires a solidly trained dog. To this end, we train from puppies until adulthood to work effectively in widely different situations – dark buildings, unstable surfaces, helicopters, animal remains, food distractions, loud noises and other external distraction factors. Our personnel will be highly effective handlers of rescue canines. To this end, the foundation shall provide its handlers with specialized training in first aid, visual tracking, and other skills needed to be a effective K9 Search Team Leader.”
Gerald and his team collaborated with the Philippine Coast Guard K9 Group and is bound to host a benefit dinner on Monday evening (March 7, 2016) at the La Reve Events Venue in Quezon City.
