President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Vice President Leni Robredo as chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC). The same post was previously held by former Vice President Jejomar Binay.
VP Robredo expressed her appreciation for the new post and said she will continue to support the President to provide quality service to the poor.
The President had previously made an announcement that he will not give his Vice President any cabinet post. But it seems the President had a change of heart after VP Robredo paid a courtesy call to the President.
VP Robredo was also invited to attend and join the cabinet meeting on Monday (July 11, 2016)
