Cesar Montano on Diego Loyzaga issue: “He was a victim too”

Veteran action star Cesar Montano finally spoke his thoughts and defended his youngest son Diego Loyzaga from the alleged mauling incident he recently got involved in.

Reportedly, Diego was involved in the altercation incident along with the Lopez brothers (Wilmer Angelo and Wilmer Paolo) at The Palace Pool Club in Taguig City last Sunday (March 13, 2016).

Through a statement sent by the 53-year-old action star to ABS-CBN’s news correspondent Ginger Conejero, Cesar spoke their side of the story at the same time, defended his son Diego from all his haters and bashers.

According to Cesar’s statement, the controversial incident is something that can be compared to a rumble which is prominent and common back in the days.

Cesar also mentioned how his son Diego and Wilmer Paolo Lopez primarily had a misunderstanding but were able to settle things out “like real gentlemen.”

Moreover, the action superstar pondered that contrary to what most people think, his son did not take part in beating up the Lopez brother and in fact, was also a victim in the mauling incident.

“(Diego was) looking for a safe place but unfortunately, he got punched in the nose. And before he even knew it, Diego’s face was covered with his own blood. Yes, Diego was in the area where the commotion took place but definitely not part of it. He was a victim, too. He got injured And he has a medical certificate to prove it.”

He ended his statement by concluding that of all people involved in the mauling incident, it was his “poor son” Diego who was most qualified to be remembered and blamed because of the fact the he is a showbiz personality.

“At the end of the day, they need somebody to point their finger at and get all the blames. And my poor son was the most qualified because that night he was the only personality you can name and no one else.”
