BB Gandanghari has submitted a formal petition to the Superior Court of California to legally change her name and gender last August 18, Thursday.
She took to Instagram to share the news to her followers with a photo of the document she filled out, wherein she petitioned to change her birth name Rustom Padilla to Binibini Gandanghari. She also shared the second page of the document, indicating that she wishes to change her gender from male to female.
BB Gandanghari wrote:

According to the document, she is scheduled to appear in court for the petition’s hearing on November 16, 2016, at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, California.
BB Gandanghari came out as a transgender during her stint at the celebrity edition of the reality television show ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ back in 2006.
