Sunshine Dizon not closing her doors to love

Despite her failed marriage to estranged husband Timothy Tan, actress Sunshine Dizon said that she is still open to entering another serious relationship, however, she would like to direct her focus on her work and children as of the mmoment.

“I’m still young and I’m not closing my doors. But for now, I just want to love myself more and concentrate on my children,” Sunshine said in an interview with entertainment columnist Ricky Lo published on Philippine Star.

The actress further revealed that she does not regret being wed to Timothy, especially when the fruits of the marriage are their two wonderful children.

“I have no regrets. I got married at 27. All the pain and sacrifices are worth it, especially having my two beautiful babies,” she said.

The actress also remained thankful for GMA 7 for giving her projects amidst her ongoing battle. Currently, Sunshine is part of GMA 7’s ‘Encantadia’ requel.

“I am very thankful to GMA. Work has been my salvation; it keeps my mind occupied and focused,” Sunshine said.

When asked about the lessons she learned from her experience, Sunshine shared that she understood the value of independence and strength to protect herself and her family from the pain.

“I think the greatest lesson that I learned was to be independent. All my life I was dependent on my mom and when I got married, my world revolved around my husband to a point that when this thing happened there were a couple of months when I really did not know what to do. That’s when I realized that wala na, ako na lang talaga ito. So I started to pick up the pieces and decided I will not rely on anybody but myself,” Sunshine detailed.

“Another thing is to be strong mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I realized that in order for me to protect my family and ensure my kids’ welfare I have to endure this and persevere. I believe I became more open and closer to my children. In return, I received more of their love which really did strengthen me. I always believe that this will pass. And this is all part of a greater plan that God has set for me and my family,” she added.
