Lawmaker seeks to ban Donald Trump from entering Philippines

Congressman Joey Salceda filed a bill seeking to permanently ban U.S. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump from visiting the Philippines after Trump called the country one of the “terrorist nations.”

During his speech at Portland, Maine, Trump reitereated his position to ban immigration from Muslim-majority countries.

“We’re letting people come in from terrorist nations that shouldn’t be allowed because you can’t vet them,” he said. “There’s no way of vetting them. You have no idea who they are. This could be the great Trojan horse of all time.” said Trump.

Trump the mentioned his list of of so-called “terrorist nations” – Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Yemen, and the Philippines.

This prompted Congressman Salceda to file a bill to ban U.S. candidate from entering the country. A portion of the bill reads:

“There is no feasible basis or reasonable justification to the wholesale labeling of Filipinos as coming from a ‘terrorist state’ or they will be a Trojan horse.

This comes from a long line of pronouncements where he has demonstrated an unrepentantly negative, dysfunctionally nativist, aggressively adversarial attitude towards immigrants in the U.S. where he aspires to be the leader.”

Such ugliness of utterances, largely unprompted and undeserved, are in stark contrast to the fact that said Donald Trump has been a beneficiary of Filipino hospitality including patronage of his joint property called Trump Tower at Century City with 56 stories worth P6 billion, now fully sold from which he has earned handsomely,”
